Biografía
Aamir Khan es un actor, director, productor, cineasta y presentador de programas de televisión de la India que se ha establecido como uno de los actores más populares e influyentes del cine indio. Comenzando su carrera como actor infantil en la película de su tío Nasir Hussain, Yaadon Ki Baaraat (1973), Khan inició su carrera profesional once años después con Holi (1984) y tuvo su primer éxito comercial con Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak (1988). Recibió su primer Premio Nacional de Cine (Premio Especial del Jurado) por su papel en la película Raakh (1989). Después de siete nominaciones anteriores durante las décadas de 1980 y 1990, Khan recibió su primer premio Filmfare al mejor actor por su actuación en la gran Raja Hindustani (1996) y más tarde ganó su segundo premio al mejor actor por su actuación en Lagaan, nominada al Oscar. que también marcó el debut de su propia productora. Después de un descanso de cuatro años de la actuación, Khan hizo su regreso interpretando el papel principal en la histórica Mangal Pandey: The Rising (2005), y luego ganó un premio de la crítica a la mejor interpretación por su papel en Rang De Basanti (2006). Al año siguiente, hizo su debut como director con Taare Zameen Par, por la que recibió un premio Filmfare al mejor director. A esta le siguieron Ghajini (2008), que se convirtió en la película más taquillera de ese año, y 3 Idiots (2009), que se convirtió en la película de Bollywood más taquillera de todos los tiempos, sin ajustar por inflación. El Gobierno de la India lo honró con el Padma Shri en 2003 y el Padma Bhushan en 2010 por sus contribuciones al cine indio.
